Christmas Mail
I finished exams! hoorah! Since finishing my mum and I went on a little op shopping trip to the blue mountains so I have some purchases to show you when I get around to it :-D
Seeing as it's almost christmas (or it feels like it to me anyway, I decorated about a month ago), I feel that it is time for me to send out some christmas mail! I have a whole pile of vintage christmas cards because I always snap them up and I would love to send some out. So if you want a little bit of christmas in your letter box just email me your address to em.odonnell94@gmail.com and I will send you a card :-)
Below are my favourite cards so I can't promise that you will get something quite as cute (I am such a hoarder and can't bear to part with them) but I will try my best to send something lovely.

Some mail I recieved this week. A vintage postcard from Jaime :-) and a purchase from etsy that came in a cute drawstring envelope

incoming mail
Some lovely mail that has graced my mailbox recently from linda, doro and able and game. My cat zinky decided to join me and stick her paws in the picture.
Doro sent me this lovely letter with a hand painted matryoshka, stickers and other goodies!
She added some handmade triangle confetti and two sweet little hand-drawn cacti! Thank you doro!
Able and Game replied to my letter I sent out and sent some postcards! They also added some hand made confetti! oh how I love confetti, it makes everything so jolly!

Snail mail + Able and Game
Able and Game are an awesome couple in Melbourne who make brilliant cards for all occasions. I am a massive fan and have their art scattered throughout my room. I thought I would send them thank you card because they always add in little extras when you buy from them and because, as you know, I love sending mail and any excuse will do ;-)
I found these 'Thanks' cards at an oppy. They are pink and shiny with lightning bolts, I love them!
My boyfriend sent all these cards in the mail and they are now hanging in my room :-)
You can't really see it but the top frame is an able and game card :-)

Vintage Cactus Postcards
Recently I bought a whole bunch of vintage cactus postcards off eBay and they arrived!! I am completely in love with them and can't wait to send some out! So if you would like a cactus postcard for free just email me at em.odonnell94@gmail.com and I will send you one :-)
Aren't they simply divine? Some of them are used and the postmarks show that they range from the 1940s to the 1970s. I love that some of them are used, it makes them so special. Below is one of my favourite used ones. I just find it so strange and funny that they asked for a rug catalogue on a cactus postcard- so random. And I love that it's typewritten.
I also bought some vintage Los Vegas postcards - mainly because of that divine pink hotel in the bottom left, oh how I would love to stay there!

A pile of outgoing mail :-) I haven't sent out much mail lately and have been rather slow replying to people >_> This is only some of what I sent out, it was too much to fit nicely in the photo haha.
I bought some red grid tissue paper from an oppy recently because it reminded me of math grid paper, and I made some envelopes. I like how you can see the confetti inside :-) However I'm not sure how well it will survive in the mail so I put an address on the postcard inside and as an afterthought added some washi tape to the corners. I should stop being so cheap and buy some of those lovely glassine envelopes that look so pretty filled with colourful goodies.

faux bois mail ♡
I love imitation wood- not sure why, it's so tacky but I just love it! I snapped up some faux bois wrapping paper at an oppy and made the envelope below and added some dymo labels and a typewritten letter to go inside :-)

Free snail mail! :-)
I have been so hopeless with blogging lately- I've been rather busy with uni work >_> but I have a week long holiday coming up soon, so there will be time for crafty goodness and snail mail :-D Whilst procrastinating from study, I made a stack of envelopes out of some old disney magazines and I am so excited to use them!
So, if you want a splash of colour added to your postbox for free all you have to do is follow this blog and send me an email (em.odonnell94@gmail.com) with your address * (I promise I'm not a creep :-P) and I will send you a letter filled with goodies!

Textile Letters
Below is an embroidered envelope I sent last year to Karina, author of textile letters. Textile letters is a project by Karina in which you can send her a letter and she will post it on her blog (this is mine) and reply with a sweet letter :-)

knitted postcards
A while ago I had a few friends around for a "knitting night" - basically just a night of watching chick flicks whilst knitting. These are the invitations I sent out - they're are just a rectangle of (really dodgy) knitting sewn onto some cardboard. They aren't the prettiest things as I made them really quickly and rather like the 'rough' look- but someone who is a good knitter could certainly make them look super! I do think they make for a bit of a surprise in the mailbox though :-)

Postcrossing
Postcrossing is a super program that allows you to send and receive postcards from all around the world. It's free to sign up and only costs you the postcard and the postage stamp (and if your'e as obsessed with mail as I am, that won't bother you in the slightest).
I've been a part of postcrossing for a couple of years now and as you can see I have amassed quite a few cards;
So if you're looking for a way to fill your postbox with happiness check it out :-)

valentines snail mail
Sending some love through the post for Valentines ♡
Made the heart stamps from a pencil eraser, stitched the hearts with embroidery floss, cut out little 'do not open' banners and added vintage seals for a finishing touch :-)
