Textile Letters

Below is an embroidered envelope I sent last year to Karina, author of textile letters. Textile letters is a project by Karina in which you can send her a letter and she will post it on her blog (this is mine) and reply with a sweet letter :-)

giant freckles

This morning I made some last minute easter gifts- giant heart freckles! I initially intended to make them for valentines but ran out of time so they are making an appearance for easter instead. They are so simple, cheap and quick to make! All you need is some cooking chocolate and sprinkles. Melt the chocolate, spread it into the shape you want and sprinkle some sprinkles on top and you're done! easy peasy :-)

Op Shop Finds

Some goodies I found the other day whilst op shopping. I will be posting a project for all those knitting needles eventually- I'm pretty busy with uni work at the moment, hence the lack of posts >_>

I love this horse painting - I was so so excited when I saw it! I've been looking for an uber kitsch velvet painting for a while and this one definitely qualifies!

knitted postcards

A while ago I had a few friends around for a "knitting night" - basically just a night of watching chick flicks whilst knitting. These are the invitations I sent out - they're are just a rectangle of (really dodgy) knitting sewn onto some cardboard. They aren't the prettiest things as I made them really quickly and rather like the 'rough' look- but someone who is a good knitter could certainly make them look super! I do think they make for a bit of a surprise in the mailbox though :-)

DIY mini notebook from postcard

Yesterday I made a super simple little notebook from a vintage postcard to carry around with me and jot down notes. It's pretty basic, all you have to do is fold a postcard in half, cut some paper a tad smaller than the postcard, fold these in half together to make a little booklet and sew this onto the postcard. Easy peasy.

Postcrossing

Postcrossing is a super program that allows you to send and receive postcards from all around the world. It's free to sign up and only costs you the postcard and the postage stamp (and if your'e as obsessed with mail as I am, that won't bother you in the slightest).

I've been a part of postcrossing for a couple of years now and as you can see I have amassed quite a few cards;

So if you're looking for a way to fill your postbox with happiness check it out :-)
